This is a 16 year old single malt from The Balvenie, bottled at 47.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured in American oak and was then finished in Pineau casks. Pineau is a liqueur from the Cognac region.
The nose offers ripe grapes, apple and pear, with white pepper and oak behind. The palate is oily, with a firm start of malt, spice and wood that gives way to softer grape, vanilla and honey notes. The finish is long, with spice and oak to the fore.
