The Balvenie 21 Year Old Portwood is a Speyside single malt matured in port casks, first released in 1996. Malt master David Stewart, who has worked at the distillery for more than 50 years, oversees both its distillation and its maturation in port casks. The nose is sweet and lightly smoky, with hints of nut and raisin. The palate is malty, with a clear note of port and honey, leading to a long, soft finish supported by nut.
