The Balvenie Week of Peat 14 Year Old Single Malt (48.3%)

This is a 14 year old Balvenie single malt from the distillery's Week of Peat, bottled at 48.3% ABV. For one week a year, Balvenie distils a batch of peated malt. The peat came from New Pitsligo in north-east Speyside, and the malt was dried to around 30 ppm phenols. The nose is gentle sweet peat smoke with light floral notes and delicate butterscotch honey. The palate is velvety and round, with peat smoke balancing citrus, oak vanilla and floral honey. The finish is gentle smoke with lingering, creamy vanilla sweetness.
