The Chita is a Japanese single grain whisky from Suntory, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is made at the Chita distillery in Aichi Prefecture, founded in 1972 specifically for grain whisky.
The spirit is distilled in column stills, mainly from corn, and aged in a mix of American oak, wine and Spanish oak casks.
The nose is gentle, with crème brûlée, cardamom, acacia honey and rose blossom. The palate is mild and smooth, with honeyed corn, white chocolate, mint and a little citrus zest, and the finish is clean, with vanilla and white pepper.
