The Deveron 12 Year Old (70cl, 40%)

The Deveron 12 is a Highland single malt matured for twelve years in oak casks. It comes from Macduff Distillery, which sits near the mouth of the River Deveron on the North Sea, and belongs to the Deveron range introduced in 2015. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The character is built around orchard fruit: baked and crisp red apple, lemon peel, creamy vanilla and malt, with toasted grain and creamy oak behind. The nose offers malt, apple and pale blossom with a touch of oak and a light saltiness. On the palate come baked apple, toasted nuts and soft oak, and the medium finish turns dry and slightly chalky with a hint of smoke.
