The Deveron 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt from Macduff Distillery, which stands on the northeast coast where the River Deveron reaches the Moray Firth. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky spent 18 years maturing in a selection of oak casks. The distillery, built in 1960, works with five stills.
On the nose there is baked apple and pear crumble with honey, soft oak and a faint coastal saltiness. The palate is smooth and rounded, with spiced orchard fruit, buttery toffee and a little nutmeg. The finish is medium-long, with vanilla, toasted almond and lingering fruit sweetness.
