This is a nine-year-old single malt from The English Distillery in Norfolk, distilled in 2013 and bottled for the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as cask 137.18, 'Slicing And Dicing'. It is one of 194 bottles from a single first fill bourbon barrel, at 67.3% abv in a 70cl bottle. The whisky first spent 14 months in a new charred oak barrel before moving to the first fill ex-bourbon barrel. The nose suggests diced green apple, pine sap and sawdust. Vanilla and brown sugar lead the palate, with a little dry menthol bitterness. The finish brings cracked black pepper.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
