This is the fourth edition of the Essence of Suntory Whisky series, a single grain whisky from the Chita distillery. It was matured from 2000 for 15 years in Bourbon casks, then given a three-year finish in Japanese cherry wood casks. It was married with single grain whiskies of 12 to 21 years old from Chita and bottled at cask strength. Two different bottlings were released.
