The Executioner is a 7-year-old straight rye whiskey distilled in the United States. It is made with a high-rye mashbill and matured in new charred American oak barrels.
The nose is intense with rye spice, black peppercorn, cedar and pine needle, with raisin, dark cherry and leather beneath. The palate is concentrated and rye-forward, with clove, nutmeg, molasses or brown sugar and oak bark, balanced by dark fruit and tobacco. The finish is long and persistent, with drying tannins, lingering pepper and a fading echo of caramel and leather.
