The Famous Grouse Rugby World Cup 1999 Edition is a blended whisky from Matthew Gloag & Son, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is light and well balanced, with candied fruit, shortbread, toffee and citrus peel above a subtle, well-integrated oak. On the palate it is soft, mature and silky, with medium body and a fruity depth of raisins and nuts, plus warm spice in the form of cinnamon and ginger.
The finish is clean and dry, good but moderate in length, leaving a harmonious, slightly sweet aftertaste.
