The Gauldrons Sherry Casks is a 2023 limited edition Campbeltown blended malt Scotch whisky from Douglas Laing, from its Remarkable Regional Malts range. It is fully matured in Spanish sherry casks and bottled at 46.2% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill filtered.
The name means 'bay of storms' and refers to a windswept bay near Machrihanish.
The nose is raisins, burnt sugar, sea spray and damp oak. The palate is dates, treacle, roasted nuts and smoky spice, with a briny note. The finish is long and warming, with old leather, black cherry and coastal peat.
