The GlenAllachie – 11 Year Old Sinteis Series Part I 2014 (70cl, 57.8%)

The GlenAllachie 11 Year Old is the first release in the Sinteis Series, a name taken from Scottish Gaelic for 'synthesis'. Distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2025 at 57.8% ABV, it is a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. It combines whisky matured in first-fill Pedro Ximenez sherry puncheons with whisky from virgin Chinquapin oak, an American oak from Missouri. Master Distiller Billy Walker paired them to make the new oak more approachable alongside the sherry's richness. The nose is liquorice, butterscotch and toasted honeycomb, with candied orchard fruit, cocoa and treacle tart. The palate has ginger, candied lemon, fig jam, blackberries and molasses.
