The Glenallachie – 12 Years Moscatel Wood Finish (70cl, 48%)

The Glenallachie 12 Years Moscatel Wood Finish is a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 48% ABV without added colouring and without chill filtration. It was first matured for more than eight years in American oak ex-bourbon casks, then moved to selected Moscatel casks for more than 42 months. Moscatel is an aromatic dessert wine made in Portugal, and its casks bring floral aromas and a silky texture. The nose shows orange blossom, heather honey and citrus, with grapefruit, caramel and toffee. On the palate come dark chocolate, grape must and plum jam, then orchard fruit, cinnamon and honeycomb, ending in ginger and caramel.
