The GlenAllachie 8 Year Old Scottish Virgin Oak Batch 3 (75cl, 48%)

The GlenAllachie 8 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from Batch 3 of the distillery's Virgin Oak Series. It had additional maturation in casks made of Scottish Sessile Oak sourced from the Atlantic coast. The wood was air dried for 36 months, then toasted and charred to a medium level. It is bottled at 48%, with natural colour and without chill filtration. The nose has baked oats, butterscotch, toffee, cinnamon, gingersnaps and heather honey. On the palate come heather honey, orchard fruits and lemon zest, then white chocolate, cinnamon and ginger, with toffee and butterscotch on the finish.
