The GlenDronach 12 Years Old is a Highland single malt matured in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
The two cask types play different parts. Pedro Ximénez adds sweetness and dark fruit, while Oloroso brings drier, nuttier and spicier tones. The whisky is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, so its deep golden shade comes from the casks alone.
On the nose, creamy vanilla and sweet sugar meet cherry and apple, with a light touch of ginger.
