The Glendronach Cask Strength Batch 1 (70cl, 54.8%)

This is the first batch of the Glendronach Cask Strength series, a Highland single malt bottled at 54.8% in a 70cl bottle. Each release in the series is made in small batches from specially chosen sherry casks. Batch 1 matured in a combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez casks and has a deep gold colour. The nose is a balance of juicy sherry, raisins touched with honey, warm oak and soft ginger. On the palate, intense toffee and cocoa run into rich, dark sherried fruit, with grated orange and chocolate fondant. The finish is long and lasting.
