The Glenlivet – 12 Year Old Double Oak (70cl, 40%)

This is a 12 year old single malt Scotch from The Glenlivet, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is matured first in traditional oak and then in American oak casks, which add notes of vanilla and a distinctive smoothness. Water from Josie's Well is used for mashing and fermentation, and the height and width of the copper stills add a delicate yet complex character. The colour is a bright, vibrant gold. The nose is summery and fruity. The palate is well balanced and fruity, with strong pineapple notes, and the finish is long, creamy and smooth.
