The Glenlivet – 15 Year Old French Oak Reserve (70cl, 40%)

This is The Glenlivet 15 Year Old French Oak Reserve, a Speyside single malt aged for at least 15 years and bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. A selected part of the whisky is finished in French Limousin oak casks, and the time spent in that oak is controlled so its influence stays measured. The wood adds nutty and spicy character to the fruitiness of the malt. It is chill-filtered and has added colour. The nose has rich toffee, dark chocolate and spicy ginger biscuits. On the palate ripe mango, warming cinnamon and almond make a soft, fruity and nutty impression. The finish is warm, mild and spicy.
