The Glenlivet – 15 Year Old French Oak (70cl, 40%)

The Glenlivet 15 Year Old French Oak is a single malt bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. Part of the spirit is matured in French oak casks for a limited period, so that the oak does not overpower the whisky. The casks are made from Limousin oak, cut in the Dordogne region of France. Its low density lets the spirit penetrate deep into the wood, which gives the spiciness, and the French oak also brings a richer, creamier finish. The colour is deep, intense gold. The nose is creamy and buttery, the palate fruity and nutty, and the finish has a lingering trace of sweet almonds and hints of spice.
