The Glenlivet 40 Year Old is a single malt bottled at 46.9% ABV. It was finished in bespoke sherry casks from Jerez, Spain, seasoned with both Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry.
It shows layers of poached plums, charred orange, dark cherries and warming spices, with braised red apples alongside.
The nose is described as homemade strawberry jam and raisins. The palate is sweet and deep, with dark chocolate and liquorice, and the long, sweet finish carries a touch of warming spice.
