The Glenlivet Cipher is a limited-edition Speyside single malt, released in 2016 as part of an experimental series from the distillery. It was sold without a disclosed age or cask recipe, and it comes in an opaque black bottle with cryptic lettering and matching presentation packaging. It is bottled at 48% ABV.
Independent tasting impressions describe a fruit-forward malt with pineapple, banana and vanilla on the nose. Honey, roasted almonds and soft tropical fruit lead the palate, with white pepper and a touch of cinnamon. The finish is medium in length, with orchard fruit, vanilla and dry oak.
