The Glenlivet 55 Year Old is the First Edition of the Eternal Collection, made in collaboration with Michael Hansmeyer, a computational architect and programmer. It is a single malt matured for more than half a century in a seasoned sherry cask.
The nose brings poached pear, Seville orange, sticky dates, toasted hazelnut, dark chocolate, cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate are blackcurrant jam, vanilla fudge, dark chocolate, orange, crystallised ginger and a touch of clove. The finish is very long, moving from fruit to spice and ending dry and warming.
