The Glenrothes 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt and a core expression from the distillery. It is sold in a 70cl bottle.
It is matured for twelve years mainly in sherry-seasoned oak casks, which gives a balance of fruit and gentle wood spice.
The nose has ripe melon, banana and vanilla, with a little citrus zest and light oak spice. The palate is smooth, with vanilla custard, dried fruit, cinnamon, toasted almonds and a touch of ginger. The finish is medium in length, with lingering sweet fruit and spicy oak.
