The Glenrothes – 12 Years Old (70cl)

The Glenrothes 12 Years Old is a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle. It belongs to the Soleo collection, a range named after the traditional sun-drying of grapes that forms the base of sherry. It is bottled with no added colouring, so the colour is entirely natural. The distillery's style here is fruity and elegantly balanced, with a character close to that of The Glenrothes Vintage Reserve. The nose is soft, with banana and vanilla. On the palate, banana comes through again with lemon and melon and a subtle touch of cinnamon. The finish is long and sweet, with light melon and spice.
