A 15 year old Speyside single malt from The Glenrothes, matured in European oak casks that previously held sherry. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle, chill-filtered and with no added colour.
The distillery was founded in 1879 with the aim of making a lighter, elegant Speyside style. The sherry-seasoned oak adds baked fruit, praline and warm spice to that house character.
The nose brings dark brown sugar, baked apples and pears, hazelnut praline, candied orange, maple syrup, toasted oak and leather. On the palate come caramelised pear, dark chocolate and pecan pie with cinnamon, clove, cardamom and candied ginger. The finish is rich and silky, with a gentle spice warmth that lingers.
