The Glenrothes 18 Year Old is a single malt Scotch matured in a high proportion of first-fill sherry-seasoned oak casks, both American and European oak. At this age the orchard-fruit character of the spirit becomes silkier, with a richer sweetness.
The nose brings ripe pear, sweet vanilla pods and orange oil, with almonds and a little dried ginger. On the palate come sweet ginger, pear and rose water over creamy vanilla, and the finish is long and warming, with soft vanilla, orchard fruit and a final touch of sweet ginger.
