The Glenrothes 1982 is a Speyside single malt, distilled in 1982 and bottled in 1998 at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is fresh and fragrant, with stewed and ripe fruit such as green apple, apricot and plum, over dark honey, vanilla and sponge batter. Candied orange peel, a light floral touch and fine sherry wood follow.
The palate is soft, creamy and silky, with caramel, vanilla and marzipan, then apple, orange marmalade and red berries, and spice from cinnamon, clove and fine pepper. The finish is medium to long, with oak, dark chocolate, hazelnut and a faint citrus bitterness.
