The Glenrothes Sherry Cask Reserve is a single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside, in a 70cl bottle at 40% ABV. Sherry wood is central to its character, and Jerez oak is noticeable on the palate.
The nose is juicy and layered, with candied orange peel, fruit cake, black cherries and a hint of pear, opening to fine raisins, fresh ginger, honey and crushed nuts. The palate is creamy and well balanced, led by ginger and cinnamon, then crème brûlée, apple pie and nutmeg. The finish is long and slightly dry, with orange peel, brown sugar and a pleasant peppery oak note.
