The Macallan 18 Year Old Sherry Oak 2023 Release is a Speyside single malt aged for a minimum of 18 years, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. It belongs to The Macallan's Sherry Oak series and was matured exclusively in Oloroso sherry oak casks from Jerez, Spain.
The distillery manages its sherry casks in-house, from the selection of the wood through to the seasoning of the cask.
The nose opens with raisins and figs, honey and dark chocolate, with spice, aged oak and ginger, and raspberry and cranberry appearing with time. The palate is smooth and medium-bodied, with dried fruit, caramel and a touch of spice. The finish is long, with dark chocolate and spice.
