The Director's Edition is a single malt from The Macallan's 1700 Series, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It carries no age statement and was discontinued in 2012 as the distillery rationalised its range.
The whisky matured in ex-sherry casks, and it has a deep gold colour. The 1700 Series was hand-selected by The Macallan Whisky Maker at the peak of maturity, and the series is described as rich in colour and complex in flavour.
