The Macallan – Harmony Collection Jing (70cl, 43.9%)

The fifth bottling in The Macallan Harmony Collection, a Speyside single malt made in collaboration with Jing Tea. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 43.9% ABV and is a limited edition. Jing refers to the tea company, and in particular to its Phoenix Honey Orchid, a complex tea with aromas of dessert wine and exotic fruit. The whisky matured mainly in sherry-seasoned American oak, along with sherry-seasoned European oak and ex-bourbon casks. The nose shows clear sherry influence, with red fruit, chocolate, vanilla, dried fruit, honey and wood. The palate is oily, with chocolate, honey, spices, coffee, nuts and a hint of tea. The finish is soft, with dried fruit, cocoa and nuts.
