The Macallan Rare Cask Batch No. 3 is the third release of the Rare Cask bottling, an annual release. This is the 2018 edition, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV.
It is drawn from a broad selection of casks, including American oak sherry casks and European oak casks, many of them first-fill.
The nose is soft vanilla and rich raisin, followed by fresh apple, lemon and orange. Sweet raisin dominates the palate before vanilla, dark chocolate and light citrus zest. The finish is long, rich and velvety.
