The Macallan Rare Cask Black (70cl, 48%)

Rare Cask Black is a single malt from The Macallan, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It matures in sherry-seasoned casks of both American and European oak, and its smoky character comes from aged stocks of peated spirit. The Rare Cask was introduced in 2014 as a permanent addition to the 1824 Master Series. When that series was discontinued in 2018, the Rare Cask stayed in the range and became an annual small batch release. The Macallan describes the casks as having an intense, sweet raisin flavour and a rich, velvety mouthfeel.
