The Overture is a 3 year old Kentucky rye whiskey from Fortune's Fool, in a 75cl bottle at 54.7% ABV.
It is matured in American oak. The staves were seasoned outdoors for 24 months, and the barrels are hand-shaped, then charred and toasted over oak fires.
The nose brings baking spices, vanilla and citrus. The palate begins with gentle spice and a hint of berry, then moves to dried orange, warm honey and oak, with faint peach later on. The finish is warm and lingering.
