The Singleton of Dufftown 12 Year Old Luscious Nectar (70cl, 40%)

A 12 year old single malt Scotch whisky from The Singleton of Dufftown, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. This Singleton was relaunched from Dufftown to take the place of the Singleton of Auchroisk, and it is aimed at drinkers who are new to malt whisky. It has a rich amber colour with polished mahogany highlights and a medium to full body. Sweet, fruity notes run through it, with a lingering warmth. The nose opens with polished wood and toasted nuts, then baked apple, soft brown sugar and a touch of moss. On the palate come sweetness and crunchy nuts, with brown sugar and espresso coffee. The finish is medium to long, drying and crisp, with a sweetly nutty chew.
