This is a 17 year old Speyside single malt from The Singleton of Dufftown, a limited edition released as part of Diageo's Rare by Nature series. It is the first Singleton matured entirely in refill American oak hogsheads.
It is bottled at a cask strength of 55.1% ABV, without chill filtration or added colouring.
The nose brings honeycomb sweetness, floral grasses and fresh fruit. The palate is creamy and well rounded, with honeyed biscuits, vanilla, orchard fruits and soft malt, plus hints of butter, custard and gentle oak. The finish is warming, with a touch of peppery spice and lingering sweetness.
