The Singleton of Glen Ord 17 Year Old 'Into the Blue' is a single malt from the Diageo Special Releases 2025, in a 20cl bottle at 55.5% ABV.
It marries two parcels of Glen Ord, both first matured in refill casks. One then had five years in Spanish second-fill sherry butts; the other, after longer refill maturation, had three years in Mexican ex-mezcal casks. It is non-chill-filtered, with no added colour.
The nose is mild, dry and aromatic, with nutmeg or cinnamon, soft fruit, a little raisin and vegetal hints of mezcal. The palate is smooth, sweet and lightly salty, with strong ginger and honey. The finish is long and warming, with white pepper.
