The Singleton of Glen Ord 38 Year Old

This is a 38-year-old single malt from Glen Ord in the Highlands, matured in oak since 1981 and released in 2019 in an edition of 1,689 bottles. Its deep amber-brown colour comes from the long maturation alone, with no colouring added. The bottle has a green-to-amber gradient design. The nose offers beeswax and dried apricot over dark raisins and roasted walnuts, with orange peel, hazelnut and a touch of nutmeg. On the palate come caramelised apple and ripe plum, wrapped in honey sweetness, with spiced oak. The finish is long, with honey, soft fruit and a final note of spicy oak.
