This is a 39 year old single malt from The Singleton of Glen Ord, bottled at 46.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Only 1,695 bottles were produced.
The whisky was matured in European oak casks that previously held port, red wine, Pedro Ximenez and oloroso sherry. These were then married in casks that had held Bordeaux red wine.
The nose offers rich fruit cake, wine-soaked raisins, candied orange, toasted almonds, butterscotch and slightly burnt vanilla sponge. On the palate come peppery spice, sticky dried fruits, plums, baking spice and sweet cherries.
