The Six Isles Voyager is a blended malt that brings together single malts from Islay, Jura, Skye, Mull, Orkney and Arran, with no grain whisky in the blend. Peaty, maritime and floral impressions run through it.
The malts are twice distilled in swan-neck stills and matured for more than ten years in a variety of oak casks. Ian Macleod Distillers carries out the blending and bottling at 46% ABV, without chill-filtration or added colouring.
Tasting notes describe pepper and other spices with heather flowers and wine gums on the nose, alongside gentle smoke, oat pastry and sea salt. The palate is rich and oily, with malt, vanilla, buttered bread, salt and smouldering peat. The long finish is soft, salty and sweet.
