SRV5 stands for Station Road Vatted No. 5, a blended malt from Thompson Bros made from casks of whisky over 8 years old. It is vatted in a 1200-litre oak vat that has been charred and toasted, and left to rest in the wood.
Only two thirds is taken for each bottling and reduced to 48.5%; the remainder starts the next batch. It is non-chill-filtered and bottled without colouring, and the label uses artwork by KK Hiroshima.
The bottler's notes describe melon, apricot, green apple and marine peat on the nose, and a palate of citrus, candle wax and light smoke.
