Thompson Bros Blended Scotch TB/BSW Aged Over 6 Years (70cl, 46%)

A blended Scotch from Thompson Bros, made from a selection of malt and grain whiskies aged for more than six years. The blend was reduced very slowly, which the bottler says gives an easy-drinking balance without losing the intensity of the aromas. It matured in first fill and refill sherry hogsheads and is bottled at 46%. The label uses artwork by KK Hiroshima. The bottler's notes describe a nose of plum sauce, miso, savoury stock, golden raisins, ashy caramel and coffee custard. The palate brings raisins, raisin bread, buttered Jamaican cake, maple and toasted cinnamon, followed by soft, warm spices, orange peel and dried figs.
