Thompson Bros. TB/BSW is a 40 year old blended Scotch whisky, distilled in March 1984 and bottled in October 2024 at 40.4%, in a 70cl bottle. It matured in a refill butt and combines malts from several distilleries, with a significant share of Islay malt. The bottle carries a distinctive hologram.
The nose opens with lemon, wax and gentle coastal smoke, with sea spray, lavender, plums, nectarines and a medicinal edge. On the palate come orange sorbet, menthol, eucalyptus and salted caramel, with green tea, olives and barbecue syrup. The finish is long and balanced, ashy and peppery, with a fresh lift.
