Thomson South Island Peat is a New Zealand single malt made from New Zealand-grown malted barley, smoked with peat from the South Island and distilled in copper pot stills. The label carries the added words Progress Report. It is bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring. The whisky won a gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2016. The nose combines earthy peat smoke and garden herbs with sweet vanilla and milk chocolate. On the palate come tangy fruit sweets, mineral notes and sea salt, with rye bread, fresh-baked bread and herbs. The finish holds garden herbs, sea salt, iodine and spice.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
