Tobermory – 27 Year Old Oloroso Cask Finish (Expression 5) (53.1%)

Tobermory 27 Year Old is Expression 5 in the distillery's Hebridean Series, a single malt bottled at 53.1% ABV. It was first matured in ex-bourbon casks, then spent a further 12 years in González Byass Oloroso sherry casks. That time in sherry adds dark fruit, warming spice and mature oak to Tobermory's fruit-led style. The nose is cinnamon pastries, black fruits, apricot and dried figs, with toasted oak and orange zest. On the palate come marmalade, cinnamon, fig rolls, blackcurrant and brambles. The finish is steady and lasting, with red berry compote, mandarin and nutmeg.
