Tobermory – Distilled 1994 Bottled 2019 Wilson & Morgan Barrel Selection 25 Year Old Oloroso Sherry Wood (70cl, 55%)

This is a 25 year old Tobermory from the Isle of Mull, distilled in 1994 and bottled in 2019 for Wilson & Morgan's Barrel Selection. It is bottled at a cask strength of 55% in a 70cl bottle. The malt was matured in Oloroso sherry wood. The extra age softens the edges of Tobermory's robust spirit without taming it completely, and the sherry casks work well with the island character. Expect an oily texture and earthy, vegetal flavours on a muscular body, with liquorice and a hint of tarry boat coating. The sherry adds sultana raisins, a lively peachy sourness and candied orange peel.
