Toki Black Japanese Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Toki Black is a Japanese blended whisky from The House of Suntory, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is the richer, gently smoky expression of the Toki blend, made with the addition of Hakushu Peated Whisky and Hakushu Grain Whisky. It has no added colour and is chill-filtered. The jazz musicians Terrace Martin and Ryota Nozaki worked together on two pieces of music for it, recorded at ONKIO Studio in Tokyo. Baked apple, oregano and honeysuckle lead the nose. The palate combines butterscotch sweetness with clove, cinnamon, lavender and toasted rosemary. The finish is sweet, with white pepper, ginger and lingering gentle smoke.
