Tomatin – 14 Year Old Port Casks (70cl, 46%)

Tomatin 14 Year Old is a single malt matured in tawny port casks, which had held port for around 50 years beforehand. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky is soft, smooth and sweet. Red berries, honey and rich toffee on the nose give way to lighter fruit and nuts on the palate, ending in a lingering finish of smooth fruit salad. In the glass, expect red berries, toffee and roasted notes on the nose, and a sweetly berried palate with fine acidity, a gentle sharpness, dried fruit, candied orange and a nutty touch.
