Tomatin – The Portuguese Collection Moscatel Casks 15 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

This is a 15 year old Highland single malt from Tomatin, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is the Moscatel edition of The Portuguese Collection, a limited series of three Tomatin malts that show the influence of Portuguese wine casks. The whisky was distilled on 8 September 2006 and matured in traditional Scotch whisky oak. On 23 April 2015 it was moved into a Moscatel cask, and it was bottled on 9 May 2022. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The nose is sweet, with marmalade, honey and salted caramel over a hint of citrus. On the palate come ginger and star anise, and the finish is long, with a dessert wine character.
