This is a 13 year old single cask Tomintoul from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, released as 89.20 under the name A Rodeo Bull Ride. It was distilled in 2010 and bottled at 59.5%, with 262 bottles filled in 70cl.
The whisky spent nine years in an ex-bourbon hogshead before moving into a second-fill American oak ex-PX hogshead, which adds a touch of dryness and sherry character.
The nose suggests polished cowboy boots and saddle, with herb liqueur and hot chocolate. The palate is either spicy and dry or playful, with dark chocolate biscuits, treacle and mint chocolates.
